Obituary for Louise Mary Gorley (Johnson)

Louise Mary Gorley completed her mission in this life on 21 October 2022. She was born 23 March 1946 in Delta, Utah. Her father, mother, and brother Alden moved to Ogden Utah a short time later and her dad went to work for the government on radar systems. She grew up there and graduated from Ben Lomond High school in 1964, after graduation her and her best friend Judy Holt went up and worked at Yellowstone for the summer. She went to Weber College for a while and then worked for the I.R.S. and Braten Grato fish restaurant.

She met the love of her life on October 31, 1971 Floyd Gorley and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on June 24, 1972. They moved to East Carbon, Utah after Floyd graduated from Utah State University in 1973 and then to Delta, Utah so Floyd could work at the I.P.P. power plant. Floyd retired from the power plant in 1997 and they went on the road for Great Salt Lake Electric and traveled to Nauvoo, Illinois, Redlands, California, and San Antonio, Texas to work on L.D.S. temples. After that they traveled around the west for G.S.L. for 10 years. They adopted two grandchildren Alexis and Josh in 2011 and moved back to East Carbon where they presently live. She loved to sew, do genealogy, and visit grandchildren. She fought cancer for 8 months and will always be remembered and missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Floyd, 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and a great grandson, and her brother Alden. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, father, and baby F.L. Gorley.

Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in East Carbon on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the East Carbon Cemetery.
