Obituary

Kent Neldon Powell “Buffy” passed away March 14, 2020 at his home in Price, Utah.

He was born October 12, 1967 to Neldon and Evelyn Powell in Price, Utah.

Kent worked in the Mining Industry for 23 years as an electrician foreman for different companies.

Kent was a loving, caring man with a wonderful sense of humor. And enjoyed making other’s laugh and spending time with his good friends. And want to extend a Thank You to Pat, Louis and Ernesto for their caring compassion and time they gave to him. Kent cared more of other’s than himself even with his impaired vision would have given “the shirt off his back” or his last dollar.

Kent struggled with addiction and in his darkest days wanted to make a difference in his life but his addiction kept him from changing until the last 60 days of his life that were substance free. And now his soul cleansed for the happy reunion that has now taken place.

He is survived by daughter Alexis Powell of Price, Utah; brother Kevin Powell of Price, Utah; sister Neleen Powell & Burke Jensen of Tremonton, Utah; sister Rinna Powell of Logan, Utah; many nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents Neldon Lavell Powell and Evelyn C. Powell and brother Shawn Lavell Powell.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South, Price, Utah.

Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.fausettmortuary.com in Price, Utah.

I met Kent aka “Buffy” a few months back when he decided to fight and get his life back from addiction. He was an immediate friend, a fighter and a hilarious and loving person. In such a short amount of time I had made a friend who not only cared about me but expressed love for me and I knew he meant it. He was a very supportive friend and no matter what he was going through he had a way of pushing himself aside to be there for me if I was down or going through things personally. He showed me what it was to truly be selfless. Kent went back home after a 30 day stint in rehab and he expressed being worried about relapse but kept in touch with me and promised that he would continue his sobriety for himself. He did just that! He text me nearly everyday up until the news came that he had passed. He left an imprint on so many hearts including mine and although I shed tears for his loss, I find comfort in knowing he is out of the pain his body had. He loved hard and cared deeply for others. I know how much he loved his sisters and how much he loved his daughter and just wanted to be the best for all of them. I can’t say I have ever met a man quite like him and I am extremely grateful that I was blessed to call him a friend.
I will miss you Kent and I love you, Rest In Peace and watch over your family because they need you.

Love your friend,
Sommer 💋
Until we meet again

I have been honored, to know the Powell, family for many years. I would like for kevin, Nelleen, and other family members to know how much you are loved, by me and many others. Kent, grew up to be a fine young man. He had a heart of gold. And his memories, will last a life time. If there is anything you need or just someone to lean on or talk to, I'm here, day or nite. God Bless you all. I'm sorry for the loss.

I had the privilege of working with KNP at Skyline Mine on the belt crew. He was our "macgyver" he would always come up with some idea on how to make our job easier and better. I have very fond memories of working with and being around KNP.
