Buddy Ray Mills “Pudley/Pud” passed away suddenly January 26th 2019 at the age of 37 in Provo, Utah surrounded by his family and friends. Buddy was born November 15th 1981 in Price, Utah to Richard Bret Mills and Janette Kay Clawson Stewart.

He graduated from Emery High School with the class of 2000. He married the love of his life Melanie Austin Mills on December 5th 2009. They had two handsome sons Bryton Ray and Braxton Reese Mills. Everything that Buddy did was for his wife and little boys. He never missed a moment to spend time with his boys and teach them how to do things the right way the first time. He enjoyed teaching them how to play baseball and showing them how things work.

Buddy always believed in hard work and took extreme pride in his work ethic. He learned the value and pride that comes from hard work at a young age. He started in the coal mines in 2005 where he was a Certified Electrician, and spent time on the fire brigade. He helped with the rescue efforts in the Crandall Canyon Mine disaster. He became a Maintenance Foreman and finally left the mine in 2016. He spent a short time at Tata Chemicals in Wyoming. He returned home to Castle Dale and became employed at PacifiCorp where he was currently working.

Buddy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He always had a very strong testimony, and had a close relationship with his Father in Heaven. He loved taking his boys to church and teaching them about the gospel. His faith never faltered and he wanted his boys to have the same understanding and reliance as he had.

Buddy was very spontaneous and loved to have fun. He enjoyed every minute he could spend in the mountains or desert. He truly loved the beauty of God’s creations. He had a passion for coyote hunting and just hunting in general, camping, driving his razor and trapping. He was very adventurous and always up for an adrenaline rush. He enjoyed a challenge and could fix or build anything if he put his mind to it. He liked to have best of the best and always provided his family with the best. Bud took a lot of pride in his appearance, and was clearly a “Sharp Dressed Man”. He never passed up a moment to learn and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his boys, co-workers and friends. He was a very loyal and dependable friend that you could call anytime day or night for his help. He was very kind-hearted, spoke with honesty and had so much pride and respect for his country.
